Talk 1: Sustainable Software Development

Sustainability. A topic that tends to overwhelm people and drive them to inaction. Where should you as an IT leader look for actionable material and plans? Lucky for you, plenty of people out in the world have already thought a lot about this topic. Learn about what sustainability means for the IT industry and how you can leverage the ideas from others such as the Green Software Foundation's principles and the UN's own Sustainable Development Goals. After this session, you can take ideas such as Software Carbon Intensity, Demand Shifting and Shaping back to the office and start implementing them. Together we can build more resilient systems and organisations that help shape a better tomorrow!

Speaker: Jan Hendrik Kuperus - Director at Yoink

Talk 2: Software Engineering Intelligence

Telling when work will be done in software engineering is like a hard thing of a hard thing. Especially in a DevOps teams with ever changing requirements. Engineers therefore don't like it if someone asks them when it'll be ready. There is a fair alternative. We could measure team output using metrics that you can maybe game individually, but not as a set. And these metrics can actually give us an objective way to see where we can improve and what our productivity is! This talk will go into metrics from DORA, SPACE and the brand new NPR 5333 resolution that help measure this using a balanced practical approach that explains how keeping track of communication, developer activities, organizational factors and technical aspects makes this possible. Backed by research and practical examples.
